Description
This grant supports faculty members from the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA) and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM) to undertake travel and projects in Japan or other East Asian countries. The primary aim is to enable substantive academic activities—such as research, cultural site visits, or professional meetings—that foster the development of new courses on Japan or enhance Japan-related content in existing courses. Prior experience in Japanese Studies is not required, but the rationale for travel must be well justified. The grant is designed to benefit the applicant’s home campus through course enhancements, lectures, performances, or exhibits.
