Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Discovery Award supports investigators pursuing pioneering research on the biology of normal human aging to understand aging processes and related physiological decline.
Funder: Glenn Foundation for Medical Research
Due Dates (Anticipated): January 2027 (Application deadline)
Funding Amounts: $555,000 over three years, paid in annual installments of $185,000
Summary: Supports pioneering research on the biological mechanisms of normal human aging and related physiological decline.
Key Information: Relevant proposals from any branch of biology are eligible, including investigators who have not previously worked on aging.
The Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Discovery Award supports research projects with strong potential to produce pioneering discoveries about the biological mechanisms that govern normal human aging and its related physiological decline. Established by the Glenn Foundation and administered by the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), the award advances understanding of how aging processes relate to age-associated health decline.
The program welcomes relevant proposals from any branch of biology and specifically seeks principal investigators whose expertise can bring new perspectives to aging research, including those who have not previously worked in the field. Past supported projects have explored inflammation and healthspan, tissue memories of inflammatory experiences, hypothalamus aging, neuronal rejuvenation, rejuvenation of aged stem cells, and noncoding translation in aging.
