The Glenn Foundation for Medical Research (GFMR), in partnership with the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), offers Postdoctoral Fellowship Continuation Awards to sustain highly promising aging research. Administered by AFAR, the program supports continuation or expansion of previously GFMR-funded work as well as promising new research avenues. It provides an additional year of fellowship support to researchers who would benefit from further training and research time.
Projects must investigate basic mechanisms of aging or have direct relevance to human aging, with potential to lead to clinically relevant strategies addressing aging and healthspan. Research on age-related diseases is considered when it examines how basic aging processes produce those outcomes. Work on mechanisms underlying common geriatric functional disorders, such as frailty, is also considered.
