Glenn Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Fellowships in Aging Research support postdoctoral fellows studying aging mechanisms and translating discoveries into strategies to improve human healthspan.
Funder: Glenn Foundation for Medical Research
Due Dates (Anticipated): January 2027 (LOI) | June 2027 (Full application)
Funding Amounts: $80,000 for one year; up to 12 fellowships in the 2026 cycle
Summary: Supports postdoctoral fellows investigating basic aging mechanisms and translating discoveries into strategies benefiting human aging and healthspan.
Key Information: Research must be conducted at a qualified not-for-profit setting in the United States.
The Glenn Foundation for Medical Research, in partnership with the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), supports postdoctoral fellows studying the basic biology of aging and translating laboratory advances toward clinical applications. Administered by AFAR, the fellowship provides research and training support to help fellows become established in aging research and further their careers.
The program funds investigations of basic aging mechanisms and research directly relevant to human aging with potential to produce clinically relevant strategies for improving healthspan. Age-related disease projects are considered when they examine how basic aging processes contribute to disease. Research on mechanisms underlying geriatric functional disorders, such as frailty, is also considered. Recent funded work includes mitochondrial restoration, stem cell rejuvenation, microglia in brain aging, protein clearance, and neuronal autophagy.
