Description
The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Foundation’s GEMA Research Pilot Grant supports junior researchers entering mentored projects in international emergency medicine or global health. The award funds travel and minor direct research costs so recipients can participate in field research in collaboration with international partners.
The grant supports an applicant’s contribution to a larger or existing project, rather than an independent research project. Mentors must have an ongoing or planned global or international emergency medicine project requiring a junior researcher’s participation. Eligible work may include sub-studies, adjacent studies, or studies building on a mentor’s prior work, such as a registry. The program also expects recipients to share their findings through an SAEM Annual Meeting abstract and a first-authored, peer-reviewed manuscript.
