Description
The Global Initiative for Volunteerism and Education (GIVE), administered by the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation, supports international travel for oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) residents and members completing fellowships. Participants work alongside experienced OMS teams to provide humanitarian healthcare to underserved populations. OMS Foundation Alliance events and individual donors support the program.
GIVE combines education with volunteer service, offering training and surgical experience that participants may not encounter in their own residency programs. It also provides initial exposure to the rewards of delivering healthcare in underserved parts of the world, helping develop the next generation of humanitarian leaders. The Foundation’s Committee on Humanitarian Programs oversees award selection.
