Description
The Global Initiatives Venture Fund supports educationally transformative academic projects that expand Williams College students’ global understanding through rigorous, enriching international experiences. Established by the Class of 1962 at their 50th reunion and overseen by the Dean of the Faculty, the fund encourages bold, new ventures, especially those taking place abroad. Projects may span one or more years and should help students develop skills for engaging effectively in diverse cultural environments.
Supported activities include globally focused curricula and courses, international field trips, language immersion, faculty-student international research, campus residencies for international scholars, and faculty assessment of study-away programs. The fund prioritizes rigorous international teaching, learning, and research, student-faculty collaboration, and initiatives that raise the visibility of international study at Williams and inspire students to incorporate global perspectives into their education.
