--- ## Description The Global Innovation Fund (GIF) invests in early- to growth-stage innovations that can significantly improve the lives of people living on less than $5 per day in developing countries. GIF provides flexible capital—including grants, equity, and debt—alongside deep technical, financial, and advisory support. The fund's aim is to accelerate the scaling of promising solutions, particularly those that build climate resilience and unlock inclusive economic opportunities. GIF prioritizes investments in Africa and Asia and targets sectors such as agriculture, education, health, gender equality, and financial and social inclusion. --- ## Due Dates - Rolling submissions; applications are accepted year-round. --- ## Funding Amount - Funding ranges from $50,000 to $15 million per project. - The instrument (grant, equity, or debt) and amount depend on the stage of the innovation: - **Pilot:** Up to $230,000 - **Test & Transition:** Up to $2.3 million - **Scale:** Up to $15 million --- ## Eligibility - Open to **any type of organization** worldwide: - Social enterprises - For-profit companies - Non-profit organizations - Government agencies - Research institutions - Individual innovators, entrepreneurs, or researchers must apply through an affiliated organization. - Innovations must aim to benefit people living on less than $5 per day, with a focus on Africa and Asia. - Solutions should address key areas: climate resilience, inclusive economic opportunities, agriculture, education, health, gender equality, and social/financial inclusion. --- ## Application Process 1. **Review Criteria:** Confirm alignment with GIF’s mission and funding criteria ([What We Fund](https://www.globalinnovation.fund/what-we-fund)). 2. **Initial Application:** Submit a short application describing your innovation and its potential impact. 3. **Follow-on Call:** If shortlisted, participate in a call with GIF’s investment team. 4. **Full Application & Due Diligence:** Provide detailed information, including team, budget, and plans.
