Description
This funding opportunity will support research and capacity building in disease modeling to inform global polio eradication efforts. The focus includes developing strategies for cVDPV2 outbreak response, optimizing surveillance after global wild poliovirus (WPV) eradication, and detecting containment breaches. The program also aims to build a diverse public health workforce skilled in statistical and mathematical modeling, and to assess the economic implications of outbreak response and surveillance strategies, with a special emphasis on training students in these areas for polio and other vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).
