--- ## Description This scholarship recognizes and supports early career neurologists and neurology trainees residing outside the United States who demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to advancing academic, clinical, or advocacy work in their home regions. Recipients receive full support to attend the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting, including registration, travel, and accommodation, as well as access to customized training and networking opportunities before and during the conference. The program aims to foster long-term engagement with the AAN and the global neurology community through alumni networks, mentorship, and ongoing collaboration. --- ## Due Dates - October 2026 (application deadline, anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - Full meeting registration for the AAN Annual Meeting - Airfare and hotel (up to six nights), arranged by AAN travel service - Access to virtual and onsite training and networking events No direct cash award is provided; the scholarship covers travel, accommodation, and conference-related expenses. --- ## Eligibility Applicants must meet **all** of the following criteria: - Be a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) - Membership fees vary by country and career stage; reduced rates for early-career physicians and those from low- and lower middle-income countries ([see membership rates](https://www.aan.com/research/~/link/8a399be2bc8249f79d9656c8928a67aa.aspx)) - Hold an MD, DO, MBBS/MBChB, or be currently enrolled in a postgraduate clinical neurology training program (residency or subspecialty fellowship) - Be an early career neurologist (within 5 years of completing postgraduate clinical neurology training) - Be age 40 or under - Reside and practice in a country **outside the United States** - Submit an abstract to the AAN Annual Meeting - Have **not** previously received the International Scholarship to the Annual Meeting - Be available to attend required virtual and onsite training/networking sessions - Demonstrate interest in active AAN involvement and include a brief plan to disseminate research or AAN-related knowledge locally after the meeting *Note: Applicants may not receive or accept more than one AAN scholarship to the Annual Meeting.
