The Goldstine Fellowship offers exceptional early-career scientists the opportunity to conduct independent and collaborative research as resident department members at IBM Research, primarily at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in New York. The program supports fundamental and applied research in areas such as algorithms, mathematical foundations of computing, quantum algorithms, artificial intelligence mathematics, advanced optimization, matrix and tensor algebra, and related interdisciplinary topics. Fellows are expected to engage closely with IBM's permanent research staff but retain freedom to pursue their own research interests. The fellowship is awarded for one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension by mutual agreement.
