    Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Program is the VA’s largest transitional housing initiative for veterans experiencing homelessness. Since 1994, the GPD program has funded community-based organizations to provide transitional housing and wraparound supportive services, helping vulnerable veterans move toward permanent housing and greater self-sufficiency. This forecast outlines anticipated future funding opportunities, but no applications are currently being accepted.

GPD grants support a range of housing models and services tailored to the diverse needs of homeless veterans, including women, those with chronic mental illness, frail elderly, veterans with dependents, and terminally ill veterans. The program is a critical part of the VA’s continuum of homeless services.
