GPS Fund Grants support NEA affiliates’ union-led projects that engage members and strengthen professional practice and student-centered policies to improve public education and student well-being.

Funding Amounts: $50,000–$150,000 for up to 18 months; one approved extension of up to six months
Summary: Supports union-led NEA affiliate projects that strengthen professional practice, engage members, and advance student-centered success and well-being.
Key Information: Only NEA State and Local Affiliates may apply, individually or in partnerships between affiliates.
Description
The National Education Association’s Great Public Schools (GPS) Fund supports professional excellence and builds capacity for continual improvement and learning. Grants help affiliates develop, implement, and organize around union-led agendas that engage members and improve public education through student-centered policies and professional practice programs.
The program seeks innovative ideas that promote sound practice, capture lessons supporting student success, and deliver professional supports created by members, for members. It also encourages new organizational partnerships that connect improvements in professional practice with organizational priorities. A central goal is to cultivate sustainable programs that other affiliates can reproduce and amplify, extending meaningful improvements for educators and students.
