The GQS PhD Fellowship supports doctoral researchers tackling challenging quantitative problems. Created by Citadel’s Global Quantitative Strategies (GQS) team, it awards one fellowship in each of three fields: mathematics/statistics, physics, and computer science/electrical engineering. Research does not need to relate to finance.
The fellowship recognizes academic impact, including papers, publications and citations, as well as hands-on data analysis and demonstrable practical or commercial applications. Fellows are paired with a GQS mentor who can offer scientific or mathematical guidance and help them build connections. The program keeps other fellowship obligations limited so fellows can focus on their research.
