Description
The Mershon Center for International Security Studies at The Ohio State University supports graduate fieldwork and other research expenses leading toward a PhD dissertation or terminal master’s project. Preliminary fieldwork and pilot studies are eligible. Projects should contribute to a broader understanding of international, national, or human security problems, with applicants explaining their work’s relevance to a multidisciplinary audience.
The competition values intellectual excellence, originality, and research activities that are specific, viable, ethical, and relevant to Mershon’s mission. It also connects funded students with the center’s interdisciplinary community through affiliate status, events, professional memberships, and development opportunities. Regular conference attendance is not supported, although an important opportunity not covered by departmental funds may receive special consideration.
