Description
The Graduate Student Conference (GSC) Travel Grant is managed by the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) to support participation in its Annual Meeting. Formerly known as the “Traveling Jam Pot,” the fund assists doctoral candidates who are ABD and scholars within one year of receiving their PhD. Its focus is conference attendance and presentation of academic work, rather than funding a separate research project.
ASECS members replenish the fund each year, and the number of grants depends on the contributions received. Assistance may take the form of free or reduced conference registration, possible accommodation at the conference hotel, or both. Applications connect financial need with applicants’ academic projects, interest in ASECS, and plans for participating in the meeting.
