--- ## Description The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Graduate Student Scholarships program provides financial support to full-time students enrolled in graduate programs in communication sciences and disorders (CSD) in the United States. The program offers both general and endowed scholarships, recognizing academic achievement and personal merit among students pursuing master's, clinical doctorate, or research doctorate degrees. Endowed scholarships specifically support international students, minority students, NSSLHA members, and those conducting research in specialized areas such as speech sound disorders and evidence-based practices. The goal is to foster the next generation of professionals and researchers dedicated to advancing the field of CSD. --- ## Due Dates - May 20, 2026: Graduate Student Scholarship application deadline (full application submission) --- ## Funding Amount - Up to 15 general graduate student scholarships of $5,000 each - Up to 11 endowed scholarships of $5,000 each, including: - International Student Scholarship (up to 3 awards) - Minority Student Scholarship (up to 3 awards) - NSSLHA Scholarship (up to 3 awards) - Dr. Lawrence D. Shriberg Memorial Scholarship (1 award) - Dr. Sadanand Singh Scholarship (1 award) - Each recipient may receive only one scholarship - Funding is to be used for educational expenses (tuition, books, living expenses) and not for travel or research expenses --- ## Eligibility Applicants must: - Be accepted for, or enrolled in, full-time graduate study in a communication sciences and disorders program in the United States - Clinical doctoral programs in audiology or master's programs in speech-language pathology must be accredited by, or in candidacy status from, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (does not apply to research doctoral programs) - Be enrolled full-time for the full academic year - Submit university transcripts showing coursework, credits, grades, and GPA - Provide three confidential letters of recommendation (with specific requirements based on applicant’s academic or professional status) - Not have previously received a scholarship from the ASHFoundation Special eligibility requirements apply for endowed scholarships: - International Student Scholarship: Non-U.S. citizens studying in the U.S. - Minority Student Scholarship: U.S. citizens who are members of a racial or ethnic minority group - NSSLHA Scholarship: Undergraduate seniors with active National NSSLHA membership beginning graduate study in fall 2026 - Dr. Lawrence D.
