Description
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) provides Graduate Student Travel Awards to help graduate students cover travel expenses when presenting papers at its Annual Meeting. The award supports participation in the Institute’s annual gathering and the presentation of archaeological scholarship, rather than a separate research or fieldwork project. In most years, the AIA receives a limited pool of funds for graduate student presenters.
The program is part of the AIA’s broader support for archaeological research, education, fieldwork, preservation, and publication. Its funding policies also reflect a commitment to fieldwork and families: reasonable expenses for the care of dependent and elderly family members are allowable under AIA grants, fellowships, and scholarships.
