Key Information: Applicants must be individual entities acting as data providers and/or data-collection-tool developers.
GRAIL Genesis is a cascade-funding call run by the European Commission-funded GRAIL project, which awards and pays the funding itself. It supports companies and Research and Technology Organisations providing data or developing data-collection tools for generative robotics and AI. Selected projects join an eight-month Support and Mentoring Programme to design their work, develop technology and acquire data, and integrate their outputs into GRAIL.
GRAIL—Generative Robotics & AI for EU Industrial Leadership—aims to deliver the first European general-purpose Foundational Robotics Model. Its goal is to enable robots to perceive, reason, learn new skills, adapt to changing situations and act safely in real environments. Genesis is the first of three sequential open calls, followed by Ascent and Summit, supporting data generation, model fine-tuning and industrial adoption.
