Description
The Japan Foundation supports artists and Japanese cultural specialists traveling overseas at the invitation of foreign institutions. Eligible activities include theatre, music, dance and folk arts performances, along with lectures, demonstrations and workshops about Japanese culture, including sports. Projects must introduce Japanese arts and culture or contribute to international society through cultural and artistic work, with appropriate plans and methods capable of producing sufficient results.
The program forms part of the Foundation’s Arts and Cultural Exchange activities, which introduce Japanese culture worldwide and promote networking and human resource development through international collaboration and specialist exchanges. Japan-based groups and individuals may apply, as may Japan-based organizations and agencies arranging and producing their overseas projects. Funding covers part of international travel and necessary baggage or freight costs.
