Description
The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research (FPWR) supports high-impact research that advances understanding of Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and Schaaf-Yang syndrome (SYS) and accelerates meaningful treatments. Through two competitive grant cycles each year, the program funds basic, translational, and clinical research by investigators worldwide. It encourages bold ideas, new collaborations, and innovative, high-risk/high-reward projects with potential to improve the lives of people with these conditions.
FPWR particularly supports work developing and evaluating therapeutic approaches with potential for near-term benefit, alongside research producing significant advances in understanding these disorders. Priorities span genetics, hunger and metabolism, cognition and mental health, clinical care, and therapeutic development. Early-career investigators, established researchers entering the field, pilot studies, proof-of-concept research, and collaborative therapeutic teams are especially well suited to the program.
