Key Information: Applicants must be current ASA members; the program is not designed to support individual research.
The American Society for Aesthetics (ASA) supports projects that advance the Society’s goals through collaboration among members, broad participation across its membership, and outreach to the wider community. The program promotes education, public understanding, and research in aesthetics and the philosophy of art, rather than individual research projects.
Priorities include opportunities for junior scholars, attracting students, graduates, and junior faculty from other fields, building diversity and inclusivity, and raising the profile of aesthetics within philosophy and related disciplines. ASA also welcomes collaboration with aesthetics societies abroad and connections with philosophers and others in related areas. Creative proposals may include panel discussions that bring aesthetics scholars into existing theater or arts performances, displays, or festivals.
