Description
The Grants and Funding Section of Alaska’s Division of Community and Regional Affairs (DCRA) administers a portfolio of federal and state financial assistance programs, rather than a single grant competition. Its programs support community assistance, community development, disaster recovery and mitigation, community services, legislative grants, and utility disaster relief. The portfolio also includes Alaska SBIR/STTR grants, National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska Impact Grants, and revenue-sharing programs.
DCRA oversees recipient compliance and provides technical assistance with recordkeeping, reporting, and grant management. Among the programs described here, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) address public health and safety and essential service costs; the Community Assistance Program (CAP) supports basic public services; and the previously funded Food Security Grant Program supports food banks and pantries, prioritizing underserved populations.
