Description
The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) awards competitive grants for projects that address traffic safety needs demonstrated by local crash data. OTS is a state agency under the California State Transportation Agency and administers federal highway safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Its goal is to prevent deaths and serious injuries on California roadways.
Projects may address impaired or distracted driving, motorcycle safety, occupant protection, pedestrian and bicycle safety, emergency medical services, police traffic services, communications and public affairs, or roadway safety and traffic records. Proposed activities must align with OTS highway safety priorities and use proven or promising countermeasures supported by relevant data.
