    Description

The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF) supports independent analysis of innovative climate intervention technologies approaching small-scale field testing. Grants fund environmental impact assessment (EIA), predictive impact modeling, and engagement with potentially affected stakeholders, from local communities to government agencies. The intervention must address a root cause of global warming or its major global effects, with potential to scale to meaningful climate benefits.

Supported analysis examines environmental impacts and foreseeable economic, social, public health, and safety challenges. Projects may use independent consultants for impact analysis, modeling, and related expertise. CIEIF aims to make supported publications and independently reviewed reports models for future climate intervention field tests. It does not fund basic research or implementation.
