Description
The Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) is administered in Colorado by the Department of Public Safety’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). It supports the National Preparedness System by helping governments prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from potential terrorist attacks and other hazards. Colorado’s program page covers the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) and Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI).
These grants fund investments that build, sustain, and deliver the 32 core capabilities essential to the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation. Supported activities include personnel, planning, organization, equipment purchases, training, exercises, and management and administration. The program emphasizes threats and hazards posing the greatest national security risks and coordinated preparedness across the whole community.
