Description
Oklahoma Humanities provides funding for public programs that bring the humanities to life through community conversations. The program supports humanities-based discussions that increase access to and engagement with the humanities while enhancing Oklahoma’s cultural landscape. Oklahoma Humanities is an independent nonprofit organization and the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Supported formats include living history programs, conferences, community conversations, symposia, lectures and lecture series, and reading and discussion programs. Projects may also offer analytical discussions of museum collections or theater and musical performances. These examples are not exhaustive: the central focus is public engagement with humanities content through discussion, analysis, and interpretation.
