Description
Georgia Humanities, Georgia’s statewide nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, awards competitive grants for public-facing humanities programs serving Georgia audiences. Supported activities include walking tours, interpretive exhibitions, author talks, lectures, reading and discussion programs, oral histories, workshops, literary festivals, and digital humanities projects. Programs may be in person, virtual, or hybrid, with clear humanities content and meaningful public discussion, reflection, and exchange.
An optional America250 initiative supports projects exploring American history, founding ideals, contradictions, and continuing civic questions through a Georgia-centered lens. Projects may address local histories, diverse community experiences, and evolving interpretations of democracy; they need not be celebratory or limited to the Revolutionary era. Across the program, Georgia Humanities prioritizes participation by people from different backgrounds and encourages digitally scalable projects that other communities can access.
