Summary: Supports scientific meetings, workshops and short courses advancing research in palaeontology and allied sciences, prioritising students and early-career researchers.
Key Information: Events must begin at least six months after the application round deadline.
The Palaeontological Association’s Grants-in-Aid programme supports scientific organisers of meetings, workshops and short courses that promote research in palaeontology and its allied sciences. Funding prioritises support for students and early-career researchers, including conference attendance, speaking and training, over other event organisation costs. The programme also supports workshops held within the Annual Meeting and Progressive Palaeontology, including contributors’ travel, accommodation and honoraria.
Equality, diversity and inclusion are central to selection. Organisers must explain how their event will increase representation of minorities in science and provide a welcoming, safe environment. Workshops advancing the Association’s inclusion commitments are especially welcomed. Decisions also consider value for money and environmental impact, with the aim of supporting as many people as possible.
