Description
The Mississippi Library Commission (MLC) administers these subgrants using federal funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act Grants to States Program. The program supports library services and institutional capacity within the Mississippi LSTA Five Year Plan for federal years 2023–2027.
General projects select one focal area and an associated intent: lifelong learning, information access, institutional capacity, economic and employment development, human services, or civic engagement. Separate applications support professional development for library staff and public library trustees, and transfers of LSTA allocations into MLC’s HOOPLA program. The manual also describes Beehive Transport Grants for delivery and return of interlibrary loan materials between Mississippi public libraries. These are library-service awards, not research or development grants.
