Description
The Florida Department of Education’s Office of Grants Management manages and processes state and federal grant awards to school districts, community colleges, universities, and community-based organizations. This is an administrative office rather than a single grant competition or research program. Its work includes receipt and technical review of proposals, project tracking, budget review, funding authorization, award notification and distribution, and project-file maintenance.
The office connects applicants with funding resources for career and adult education, workforce education, community learning centers, charter schools, exceptional student education, and federal education programs. It also provides fiscal-management training and the Green Book’s project application and amendment procedures. The Florida Grants System (FLAGS) combines grant management, cash advances, and disbursement reporting in one location, facilitating communication among recipient agencies, the Grants Management Office, and the Comptroller’s Office.
