Description
The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation's grants program is dedicated to advancing the education and care of women in the Southeast. The Foundation primarily provides need-based scholarships to female Christian students at nearly 200 colleges, universities, and schools across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Additionally, it supports the care of senior women at 15 facilities in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. Grants are awarded directly to participating institutions, which then distribute support to eligible students or residents. The Foundation does not fund individuals directly and rarely adds new institutions to its roster of grantees.
