Description
The Commonwealth Fund supports independent research on health care issues and grants to improve health care practice and policy. Its goal is better access, quality, and efficiency for everyone, particularly people who are most vulnerable. Its research areas include coverage and access, care delivery, affordability, equitable outcomes, and international learning and exchange.
Funded work can include data analyses, surveys, evaluations, policy analysis, pilot studies, technical assistance, health journalism, and dissemination of grantee work. The Fund favors projects that clarify neglected problems, test practical models, share effective approaches, identify policy options, or analyze the effects of policies and trends. Staff often develop projects collaboratively with prospective grantees, but the Fund also considers unsolicited letters of inquiry.
