Description
The Greater Lawrence Summer Fund (GLSF), administered by Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF), supports high-quality summer programs that close opportunity and achievement gaps for young people in Greater Lawrence. For more than 30 years, the fund has expanded access to summer enrichment and academic opportunities, supporting programs that strengthen social, emotional, and academic abilities, promote safety and physical and mental health, develop skills, and reduce summer learning loss.
Funding priorities include personal growth, joy, restoration, and exposure to new experiences alongside enriching education. The fund also supports programs that affirm, preserve, and celebrate racial and cultural identity and encourage interaction, communication, and relationship building among youth and staff. Community need and programming quality guide grant decisions.
