Description
The Green Chemistry Student Chapter Award provides national recognition for ACS student chapters that demonstrate outstanding commitment to incorporating green chemistry into their annual activities. Sponsored by the ACS Green Chemistry Institute, it acknowledges chapter programs that engage students with green chemistry principles and practices, preparing them for careers addressing global sustainability challenges.
Recognition is based on activities described in the annual chapter report. The award emphasizes understanding why an activity qualifies as green chemistry and how it relates to one or more of the 12 principles of green chemistry. General sustainability, environmental science, or ecology activities are not interchangeable with green chemistry: qualifying projects must incorporate learning about chemical processes.
