Description
Dorset Community Foundation’s Green Futures Fund supports practical water conservation, community environmental action and opportunities for young people to develop skills and aspirations that help tackle climate change. Its highest priority is safeguarding water through reduced consumption, increased reuse and improved water quality. Examples include public awareness campaigns, rainwater harvesting for community gardens and projects benefiting rivers and freshwater.
The fund also supports youth-led environmental action, education, volunteering and work experience linked to environmental careers. A further priority is engaging local people in sustainability through community growing, habitat restoration, biodiversity improvements, recycling, reuse and repair. Activities can also encourage energy saving, sustainable transport and waste reduction. Water-related work takes priority across these areas, supporting the wider goal of preserving Dorset’s natural heritage and helping communities live in harmony with nature.
