Description
The Green Mountain Fund at the Vermont Community Foundation supports charitable activities in Lamoille and Orleans Counties and neighboring communities and counties. Established in 1993 to serve Lamoille County, it has since expanded its geographic reach. Its priorities include increasing opportunity for low-income youth and families, improving children’s and families’ health and wellness, and fostering community engagement, connection, and belonging.
The fund also supports environmental stewardship and respect, sustainability, work toward Vermont’s climate change goal, and food security, farming, and local food production. It prioritizes projects where a modest grant can make an impact by leveraging a new idea or other dollars. Secondarily, it supports proven ideas within these focus areas, including general operations and new or continuing programs.
