Description
The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) administers Green School Works technical assistance to help public K–12 schools, districts, and educational collaboratives plan more energy-efficient, lower-emission buildings. The program addresses the technical work needed to incorporate efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization into school capital planning, supporting Massachusetts’ goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
Participants can request a Comprehensive Building Assessment for an individual building, a Portfolio Decarbonization Roadmap for multiple buildings, or a Focused Study of specific measures. Renewable energy and storage feasibility work and Massachusetts Class I Renewable Energy Certificate analysis can be added to these services, or considered on their own when a comparable study has already been completed. Participants also receive information on relevant incentives and funding opportunities.
