Description
The Greylock ABC Fund at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation supports multicultural education and academic preparation in Pittsfield and Northern Berkshire County. Established following the dissolution of Greylock ABC (A Better Chance), the fund advances the educational development of students of color and/or students of low socioeconomic status in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, along with their families. Its goal is to help students access opportunities, attend college, and become leaders in the broader community.
Supported work includes child development and learning programs for early/elementary and middle school students, tutoring and mentoring, and college preparation. The fund also supports multicultural education in schools that benefits all demographic groups, including education promoting racial and socioeconomic equity and understanding. Priority goes to projects serving marginalized, underserved, and under-resourced populations, particularly students of color and those of low socioeconomic status.
