Description
This program offers graduate students in mathematics and related disciplines the chance to participate in real-world, industry-sponsored research projects in Berlin. Organized by the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM), the program forms cross-cultural teams of students from the United States and Germany to tackle three significant research problems designed by industrial sponsors. Projects are both analytically and computationally rigorous, culminating in team presentations and comprehensive final reports. All activities are conducted in English.
Participants receive travel support, accommodations, a meal allowance, and a stipend (for U.S. participants recruited by IPAM). The program fosters international collaboration and practical experience in industrial mathematics.
