Description
The California State Water Resources Control Board administers three groundwater quality funding programs. The Site Cleanup Subaccount Program (SCAP) supports investigation and cleanup of existing or threatened human-made surface or groundwater contamination when it harms or threatens human health, safety, or the environment and the responsible party lacks the resources to address it. Projects may include site characterization, source identification, and cleanup.
The Proposition 1 Groundwater Grant Program supported planning and implementation projects to prevent or clean up contamination of groundwater that serves or has served as a drinking water source. The Proposition 68 Groundwater Treatment and Remediation Grant Program supported treatment and remediation that prevents or reduces contamination of groundwater serving as a drinking water source. Both programs have committed all available funding.
