Description
The Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board’s Grow – Discover Research Program supports research that adds value to Wisconsin’s corn industry. Its production stewardship priorities include soil fertility, nutrient management, water quality, drainage, agronomics, tillage and soil health, and genetics. Expanded-use priorities include corn-based products, ethanol and other distilled products, green chemistry, co-products, and novel livestock uses.
The board places particular importance on the predicted economic return to Wisconsin corn farmers. Where applicable, it strongly encourages proposals to estimate either the cost to farmers of adopting a practice or discovery or its potential economic value. Projects outside the stated priorities receive limited consideration and may be considered for partial funding to leverage other sources.
