Summary: Supports first-generation graduate students in sports science fields with research funding, mentorship, and professional development.
This award recognizes and supports first-generation graduate students demonstrating passion, resilience, and academic excellence in exercise physiology, sports science, kinesiology, sports nutrition, or exercise psychology. In addition to research funding, recipients receive one year of personalized mentorship from a GSSI scientist and complimentary registration to the ACSM Annual Meeting, fostering both professional and academic growth. Awardees are expected to present their funded research at a future ACSM Annual Meeting.
