Description
The GSSI Pathways in Sports Science Award, offered through the American College of Sports Medicine Foundation, supports first-generation college students pursuing graduate degrees in exercise physiology, sports science, kinesiology, and sports nutrition. It celebrates students’ passion, resilience, and academic excellence while helping emerging leaders advance the science of human performance.
The award combines research funding with professional development. Recipients receive one year of one-to-one mentorship from a GSSI scientist, alongside complimentary registration to ACSM’s 2027 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana. Funded research must be presented at a future ACSM Annual Meeting, connecting recipients’ work with the broader sports medicine and exercise science community.
