    Description

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Gulf Research Program (GRP) supports collaborations implementing place-based disaster adaptation solutions in Greater New Orleans, Louisiana. This Phase 2 opportunity builds on ACT New Orleans Planning Grants, which helped local stakeholders establish working groups and develop project ideas grounded in scientific evidence and community experience.

Implementation projects should leverage those relationships to advance priorities in connecting communities and policymakers, improving disaster coordination, or accelerating recovery. The program seeks changes in community assets, health, and resilience, including stronger knowledge, skills, resources, and strategies. Findings will demonstrate early signs of effective solutions and inform local stakeholders, GRP partners, and other Gulf communities interested in further implementation or investment.
