Henry Belin du Pont Research Grants enable scholars to pursue advanced research and study in the collections of Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware. The grants support focused projects that make intensive use of Hagley’s library, archival, pictorial, and artifact resources and contribute new information to existing scholarship. These collections document the history of American business, technology, and society.
The program honors Henry Belin du Pont, a founding trustee and long-time supporter of Hagley, and is funded in part by the Henry Belin du Pont Memorial Fund. Administered by Hagley’s Center for the History of Business, Technology and Society, the grants help defray the costs of research residencies. Projects should have a defined focus, methodology, engagement with prior scholarship, and an intended scholarly product.
