Description
The Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) present this annual award to promote transport research and development that benefits academia, industry, and society generally, rather than a particular company or government. It combines recognition of an individual researcher with a visiting research period at a university in Sweden.
VREF takes a broad view of transport research, spanning engineering, the natural, social and behavioral sciences, and the humanities. Relevant work includes vehicle and fuel technologies, transport systems and planning, user needs and behavior, environmental impacts and climate change, and transport economics and efficiency. Multidisciplinary approaches and cooperation across disciplines are encouraged.
