    Description

The Harrington Scholar-Innovator award, run by Harrington Discovery Institute at University Hospitals in Cleveland, supports physician-scientists whose discoveries could advance the standard of care. It welcomes novel treatments for any disease and any therapeutic modality, including small molecules and biologics. Projects typically span target identification through clinical trials, with a clear starting point for development support.

Selection emphasizes innovation, creativity, clinical impact, unmet medical needs, and modulators of novel targets. Discoveries should have commercial development potential and a strong intellectual property or protection strategy. Alongside funding, recipients receive a personalized team of pharmaceutical industry experts and a project manager, with business, commercialization, clinical development, regulatory, and intellectual property guidance. The Institute also helps identify additional financial support and facilitates commercial introductions when projects are ready.
