The Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin supports archival humanities research through its 2027–2028 Research Fellowship Program. Its collections span literature, photography, film, art, performing arts, music, cultural history, and interdisciplinary studies. Supported projects include scholarly articles and monographs, dissertations, creative works such as plays, novels and films, digital humanities projects, performance-based research, exhibition proposals, and collaborative research.
The program welcomes graduate students, current and former academic faculty, and independent researchers, including journalists and artists. It supports work that explores, examines, critiques, and deepens understanding of cultural works and what communities preserve and value. Projects addressing archival representation and gaps in scholarship are welcome. The Center is especially interested in candidates who contribute to an inclusive research culture, with weekly gatherings and monthly research seminars fostering community alongside individual archival work.
