The Harry Reid Silver State Research Award honors full-time tenured faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) whose research is both highly regarded and directly responsive to the needs of Nevada. Established in 2001 to commemorate Senator Harry Reid, the award recognizes work that positively impacts the state’s economic development, addresses pressing social needs, or advances significant academic scholarship. The recipient receives a $10,000 stipend, and the award is presented by the University President at the annual Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony each spring.
