Description
The Harry Shwachman Clinical Investigator Award is part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Physician Training and Career Development Programs. It supports clinically trained physicians transitioning from fellowship training into academic careers as independent biomedical researchers actively involved in cystic fibrosis (CF). Junior faculty and senior fellows undertake mentored research tailored to their interests and development needs.
Successful applicants are typically pre-NIH K-award investigators building a research record and preliminary data for a K-award submission. More established junior investigators with limited CF research experience who need mentorship may also apply. Proposed work must be relevant to the Foundation’s mission and the health and well-being of people with CF. The program combines research support with training and mentorship to develop an independent, long-term CF research career.
